Aims and scope
The Faculty of Education and Philology, the Faculty of Natural and Human Sciences of “Fan S. Noli” Korça University, the Faculty of Education of the University of Western Macedonia, Florina and the Faculty of Education of the University of St. Kliment Ohridski Bitola are pleased to announce the co-organization of the International Conference “Critical Thinking in Education” to be held in Korça, from 31st October to 2nd November 2014.

Publication: All accepted papers for presentation to the Conference will be published in English language in the Conference Proceedings in advance and handed to participants on the first day of the conference.

Topics: Participants are invited to choose any topic related to the main theme of the conference or they may consider the following thematic:
  1. Theories on critical thinking and our experience
  2. Setting the environment for critical thinking in education
  3. Critical thinkingskills
  4. Applied techniques or strategies of critical thinking in different subjects
  5. Teaching and learning through critical thinking
  6. Critical thinking andwriting
  7. Critical thinking during the process of reading
  8. Student motivation through critical thinking
  9. Student assessment using the techniques of critical thinking
Other issues connected with the main theme are accepted, too.
Conference Language: The official language of the conference will be English.  
Presentation Language: English, Albanian (in special sessions), Greek, Macedonian
Presentations could be:
  1. In person
  2. Virtual (Poster presentation) Participants are not required to be present at the conference. The poster format will be sent to the interested participants by email. It will be printed and presented by the organizers to the conference in the poster session. All papers accepted for presentation In-person or Virtual Presentation will be published in the proceedings book.
Researchers interested in participating with oral or virtual presentations are invited to send their abstracts by 30th August 2014 in the following email address: educbr2014@yahoo.com
 
Abstract: Authors are kindly requested to write their abstract in English language including the following requirements:
Title, Author(s) name, affiliation, electronic address – all centered
Motivation for the purpose of the study
A brief description of the methods used
Expected results of the study
Theoretical and practical results
Key words (three to five key words)
The length of the abstract must not exceed 300 words. It will be compiled according to the following format and style:
  • font size: Times New Roman 12pts, Italic
  • line space: single
  • alignment: justified
  • margins: normal (one inch for each side)
Proceeding paper submission
Participants are invited to submit a manuscript for consideration for publication in the conference proceedings by 20th September 2014, to the following email address: educbr2014@yahoo.com Authors are kindly requested to compile their full papers according to the following requirements:
  • the paper should be written in English
  • text font: Times New Roman 12 pts
  • line space: single

  • Author(s) name(s), affiliation, electronic address (12 pts, bold)
  • Two line spaces left
Figures & Tables:
Each figure/table should be numbered and titled. The position of figure or table should be indicated in the text on a separate line with the words “Table 1 about ….’.
References cited in the text should follow the model: (Brown 2000), (Brown 2001: 63-68), (Brown & Smith 2003). Use “et al.” when citing a work by more than two authors, e.g. (Brown et al. 2004). The letters, a, b, c, etc. should be used to distinguish citations of different works by the same author in the same year, e.g. (Brown 2000a, 2000b). For multiple citations: (Brown 2005, Smith 1998).
All references cited in the text should be listed alphabetically and presented in full at the end of the paper (indent hanging 1.27 cm), using the following style:
